Welcome to Alive in Scotland

Welcome to Alive in Scotland!

Why the Thistle? Some people see a thistle and think it’s only a weed. Legend has it that this humble plant once saved a group of sleeping Scot warriors from an ambush when the enemy stepped on the thorny prickles of a thistle and cried out! The Scotsmen rose and vanquished the enemy. And thus, this prickly pink flower became the National Flower of Scotland! The “Order of the Thistle” bestowed only by the King, is one of the highest honors bestowed to an individual for outstanding contribution to Scotland and the UK.

This is our Highland Cow graphic. A Highland Cow is a fun and famous site on the hills of Scotland.

Let this be a joyful reminder to pray for this new work!

“He is able to save to the uttermost (udder-most 😊 ) those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”… Hebrews 7:25.

When you think of Scotland and music, bagpipes surely come to mind! They have been an important part of the Scottish culture since somewhere between the 14th and 15th century. A famous 20th Century song using the bagpipe was written by Paul McCartney & Denny Laine of the band Wings. “Mull of Kintyre” became No 1 of Christmas Songs in 1977.
